A special moment of the evening was the recording session with Billy Kotar Curtis, who, in the open studio of the Tartini Theatre, created his interpretation of a composition inspired by the sounds of nature. Instead of merely using natural sounds as a background, he embraced them as an equal element of the music in the creative process – as a space from which music is born.
The audience had the rare opportunity to observe the live creation of a composition: from the first sensations and improvisation to the gradual shaping of the musical idea. The resulting soundscape was not merely a performance, but an exploration of the relationship between man, space, and sound.
The recordings made during this session will be included on the upcoming vinyl release of Play with Nature 2, which will be released next year and will bring together four artists invited to co-create a new chapter of the project.
